9595RU is a Scania L113CRL / Wright that started life as N162KPS in the Orkneys, but came to Bakers from Bob Smith Travel in County Durham. It is used as the spare vehicle for the X1 service - but always seemed to avoid my camera. Seen at the Stafford terminus, opposite the railway station in OCtober 2008

Bakers first stage service was the Sunday operation of the Crewe – Newcastle service C84 in the late 1980s which used ex NBC coaches. Former Wessex Leyland Leopard / Duple GDF279V is seen in Mill Street,Crewe in the summer of 1988.

MX04VMH was an Optare Solo that was on loan briefly in autumn 2006. Seen on the X1 opposite Stafford station.

Bakers have 2 Plaxton Primos ex City Clipper of Southampton, one of which is MX07BBE, seen parked up at Hanley bus station, April 19th 2008. These vehicles are normally used on route 33 (Newcastle – Westlands) though this one appears to have just worked on route 77 (Congleton – Hanley) which is interworked with the 33 on Saturdays.

Bakers frequently used this on loan Optare Solo MX07NTJ on Crewe - Nantwich services 44/45 during their brief period of operation. Seen in Gresty Road, Crewe

Bakers of Biddulph have recently obtained a batch of Volvo B6LE / Alexander from Burnley & PEndle (but new to GM South). P346LND is seen at Stafford on the X1 on 9th October 2008, still in B & P livery

Bakers took over the Crewe- Nantwich routes of Best Bus at short notice after that firm folded. R948AMB is seen crossing Nantwich Road on the 44 on the first day of service (24/5/08)

An unusual occurance on April 19 th 2008, was the use of Mercedes Vario / Plaxton T49JBA by Bakers on route X1 (Hanley – Stafford). This route normally uses full sized vehicles or, failing that, Optare Solos. This vehicle was new to MacLennan of Laxey Lochs.

X282MSP is a Mercedes Vario O814D / Plaxton that was ex Dochertys of Auchterarder. Seen in Old Hall Street, Hanley in September 2006.

Bakerbus had some VDL SB120 / Wright Cadets in Cheshire County Council livery. Normally used on the Knutsford - Macclesfield route, YJ53VEA is seen entering Crewe bus station on the Crewe - Newcastle Sunday service, soon after that was taken over from First in January 2006. THese vehicles have since passed along with the service to Bowers of Chapel-en-le-Frith
